Some government orders are called supply proceedings, which are estimates of how much money the government must spend. Others are called ways and means proceedings, which are motions concerning taxation and the budget. One segment of the Commons agenda is called Members' Statements, where Members can speak on a subject of their choice for a maximum of one minute. About fifteen members get to speak each day during this part of the Commons agenda. Then there is Question Period which is a well-known part of the Commons agenda. This is a 45-minute period during which the opposition and government backbenchers can seek information from the government and question its Ministers.
